You can resolve identifiers such as DOIs by adding them to the URL bioguid.info/openurl/, for example:
http://bioguid.info/doi/10.1016/j.ympev.2006.06.014By default bioGUID displays HTML. However, if you want JSON simply append .json to the end of the URL, for example:
http://bioguid.info/doi/10.1016/j.ympev.2006.06.014.json
