You can resolve identifiers such as DOIs by adding them to the URL bioguid.info/openurl/, for example:
http://bioguid.info/doi:10.1016/j.ympev.2006.06.014By default the resolver returns HTML, but you can append "&display=json" or ""&display=rdf" to the OpenURL query to change the output to either JSON or RDF. For example:
http://bioguid.info/openurl?genre=article&title=Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution&volume=42&spage=157&display=json returns JSONand
http://bioguid.info/openurl?genre=article&title=Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution&volume=42&spage=157&display=rdf returns RDF.Data browsers such as Zitgist will retrieve RDF automatically, for example:
http://bioguid.info/doi:10.1016/j.ympev.2006.06.014
